Dear Lego TechnoCamp parent,

We would like to say THANK YOU for your child’s participation in TechnoCamp! It is always a great time when we get to share in their creativity and learning. We would like to invite you to the “PARENT SHOWCASE” on Thursday, the last day of camp. Upon checking in your child the first day, you will receive information as to the start time of the parent showcase. During the SHOWCASE you will see Robot or Activity that is your child’s favorite. This part should take about 15 min. We encourage you to ask your child questions about what they learned or about their favorite part of the camp. The last 30-45 min. will be the kit inventory before your child will be dismissed for the day. We ask that this inventory is facilitated by the parent(s). Directions will be given by the camp counselor so please plan accordingly to help your child with the inventory. A successful inventory is so important and it ensures that we have allocated for all of our Lego pieces for the next round of camps.

SPIKE kits contain 200-300 pieces and should take about 30 minutes to inventory.

VEX Go kits contain 500 - 600 pieces and should take about 45 minutes to inventory.

PARENTS - During the showcase ask your child the following questions:

1. Why did you choose _______________ as your favorite challenge?

2. What did you do when you had a problem with your project? How did you solve it?

3. What do you like best about programming?

4. How do you think these kinds of activities will help you to problem solve in your daily life?

5. What do you wish you could learn in the future?

Once again – we would like to say THANK YOU for making this program such a HUGE success this summer at NISD!!
